PRACTICAL INFORMATION

TRAVEL TO PORTUGAL 

For arrivals from any EU Schengen area countryThe border-free Schengen Area guarantees free movement (without special formalities) to EU citizens, along with non-EU nationals living in the EU or visiting the EU as tourists, exchange students or for business purposes (anyone legally present in the EU).

For arrivals outside the EU Schengen area: If you are planning to travel to an EU country (except Ireland), or Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican City, you must meet the Schengen area rules.

Please note that your passport must be less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’) and valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’).

In Portugal and in most European countries the currency is Euro. 

Currency exchange can be made at any bank branch.

Banks opening hours: 08h30 to 15h00, Monday to Friday.

FCUL has an internal emergency plan, including first aid with AED and fire intervention.

SUPPORT TEAM
The local organizing committee will be present at the conference.
Additionally there will be a team of support staff present at the venue to help you with practical matters anywhere they can. You can recognize them by their distinctive T-shirts. Please
do not hesitate to ask them for assistance when you need it. If they are not able to help you directly they may know who can.

INTERNET
At FCUL the EDUROAM network is available. To use WiFi you need to be affiliated with an EDUROAM institution and have your laptop prepared for the EDUROAM network. EDUROAM is an international collaboration between educational institutions all over the world and provides secure and encrypted wireless access. EDUROAM requires modifications in your computer settings. Further information can be found at the website www.eduroam.org

LUNCHES AND COFFEE-BREAKS

Coffee-breaks will take place at the FCUL Campus at Building C3 - on Monday to Friday at 10:20-10:50 and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 15:45-16:15. 

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - lunch box will be provided at Building C3 at 12:30.
